Identification of the origin and fate of azole fungicides

Research Questions/Hypotheses

The primary aim of this project is providing analytical-chemical expertise for the comprehensive targeted and non-targeted analysis of azoles and related compounds (i.e., degradation products and metabolites) in food, water, and human samples. Secondary aims are: (i) detection of azole residues in food and beverages, (ii) quantification of azoles in human samples (i.e., blood, urine, tissue), and (iii) quantification of azoles in environmental samples (i.e., wastewater and surface water).

Approach/Methods

Targeted and non-targeted LC-MS/MS workflows will be developed and validated for the reliable analysis of azoles in defined food, water, and human specimens.
